Welcome to this month’s Blogorail Green Loop. Today we are sharing some of the best snacks you can find in the Disney Parks.
Disney Springs has enough shops and restaurants to please just about everyone. The same is true for snacks. Here’s a list of what we think are the must eat Disney Springs snacks.
The transformation of Downtown Disney into Disney Springs has brought with it a whole new variety of tasty bites. These snacks are more unique and sometimes have an ethnic twist. Thankfully the classic snacks that Downtown Disney was known for were not lost in the transition.
From the Marketplace to the West Side, there are no shortage of snacks at Disney Springs. While many are grab and go, others provide opportunities to relax and take a break from it all. With a mix of old favorites and new flavors, anyone and everyone will be sure to find something to match their craving at Disney Springs.
1. Create Your Own Mickey Krispy Rice Treat – Goofy’s Candy Company
Goofy’s has just about anything to satisfy any sweet tooth. Their cases are filled with sugary treats from caramel apples to marshmallows on a stick. The best snack you can get there, though, is the Create Your Own Mickey Krispy Rice treat. You’ll watch in awe as your rice treat is dipped, topped and drizzles right before your very eyes.
2. Coca Cola Cooler – Goofy’s Glaciers
Also inside Goofy’s Candy Company is Goofy’s Glaciers. Frozen concoctions are served in either a standard or a souvenir cup. Eight flavors are offered with the best being the Coca Cola Cooler. It’s the perfect treat for those hot Florida days.
3. Brownie – Earl of Sandwich
While most people head to the Earl of Sandwich for their world class sandwiches, we make sure to stop by for a brownie (or 6).
This is James’ favorite snack in all of Walt Disney World. Moist, chewy and super chocolatey, they make a great snack by themselves or paired with a sandwich.
4. Ice Cream Sundae – Ghiradelli
You can’t go wrong with anything on the menu at Ghiradelli Ice Cream Shop. The sundaes are by far, some of the best on property. Each one is created with Ghiradelli chocolate, with the signature sundaes named with a wink and a nod to San Francisco.
I am a big fan of the Intense Dark Sundaes, especially the Espresso Escape. If you love coffee and chocolate, it’s a must try.
5. Chocolate Assortment – The Ganachery
New on the Disney Springs block is The Ganachery, a chocolate boutique. Inside you will find one of a kind chocolates, full bars inspired by Disney Parks and character themed lollipops.
To get the best experience, spring for a chocolate assortment. You can get a custom packaged box of 6, 9 or 12 chocolates.
6. Gelato – Vivoli il Gelato
Another new addition to Disney Springs is Vivoli il Gelato. Straight from Florence, Italy, Vivoli serves gelati, sorbetti and espresso drinks. I’ve loved gelato since taking a trip to Italy. While we haven’t had the chance to try Viloli yet, I look forward to sampling the chocolate hazelnut flavor among others.
7. Air Pirate’s Pretzels – Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar
An app and a cocktail from Jock Lindsey’s is a great way to spend the afternoon. Their selection of appetizers, all with an Indiana Jones theme, are suitable for sharing. One of the menu’s stand outs is Air Pirates Pretzels, everything pretzels with a side of house made mustard and beer and cheese fondue.
The West Side
8. Exposition Park Food Trucks
A group of food trucks is offering up some of the most unique snacks on The West Side. Each truck themed after one of the four Walt Disney World parks.
Some of the best dishes include Sweet Potato Puffs (Fantasy Fare), Pierogis (World Showcase of Flavors) and Samosas and Naan Dipping Safari (Namaste Cafe).
9. French Fries – Splitsville
What makes the french fries at Splitsville better than any other is the chive dipping sauce they are served with. Creamy and oniony, it is the perfect condiment to go with the generous serving of fries.
10. Pretzels – Wetzel’s Pretzels
Pretzels are the best grab and go snack. Wetzel’s offers a variety of specialty flavored soft pretzels including Baked Pepperoni, Baked Cheese Meltdown, and Sinful Cinnamon. Don’t forget to pick up some pretzel dip too!
As more and more food destination open at Disney Springs, I’m sure we’ll be adding to the list. Disney Springs is on its way to being the go to foodie snack destination.
